Galaxy Tab Quick Tip: Taking Screenshots

Who loves taking screenshots?

I do!

On a Windows PC taking a screenshot is as simple as pressing the Print Screen (Prt Sc) button then pasting the image into Paint or some other image editor. How about in the Samsung Galaxy Tab? Do we have to install an app to have such a functionality?

Luckily the feature is built in. Just do the following:

  1. Press and hold the Back button.
  2. Press the Power button.
  3. You’ll hear a shutter sound and see a message confirming that the image has been saved. The images will be saved in the ScreenCapture directory.
  4. That’s all!

You may take screenshot of anything on your Galaxy Tab’s display although be aware that moving or animated stuff will not be captured properly like what can be seen in the image above. Notice the tearing of the kiwi and coconut in the bottom left of the Fruit Ninja screenshot.

Furthermore some apps are a little too responsive when the back button is pressed. It will take some trial and error to get the screenshots you need on some apps. Practice makes perfect too.
